Click link and scroll through some photos of beach driftwood art found down island near Victoria.
All photos by Karen Wasilenchuk, longtime old friend.

Take care.
Trolling for Springer Kings on the Willammette close to downtown Portland.
Driftwood overload.
This was in front of the Daimler campus, clean as can be.
On either side, nothing but homeless encampments, some places had windows, air conditioners and water tanks - crazy!

Vancouver Island
Lots of Eagles around and some of them like variety in their diet.
That's a cat.

EagleWithCat.jpg

They are also known to grab a cat off a porch or railing of a place near the beach then flare up high and drop the cat on the rocks.
One took a pass at my neighbor's small dog last week but aborted as the dog was close to a bush.
Scared the crap out of my neighbor though.

Not a great photo but it's a blonde Racoon on Newcastle Island, near Nanaimo.
Apparently there are several found there.

Nice shot of a Kildeer from down around Esquimalt, near Victoria.

Take care.
The cat thing kinda sucks, but hey, Mother Nature.
Years ago my mom lived on this ranch here and a large owl flew down and grabbed one of the Jack Russells that lived there.
They found him scrambled in some ivy the next day.

We're headed out to Carrizo Plains on Monday to check out the bloom for my wife's B'day then to the Cuyama Buckhorn for lunch.
Should have some nice pics to post.

If you go on a road trip, do it on a Monday.
Miles and miles of emptiness on the Carrizo Plains today.
Unfortunately, no poppy bloom, but, none the less a beautiful day.
Did about a 300 mile loop from here to the National park to Soda Lake and out the other side and over the 58 to Taft/Maricopa and back to 166 for a killer burger at the Cuyama Buckhorn and back down the 33 to Ojai and back home.
Think the hawk is a juvenile Ferruginous Hawk.
