He lost the case by summary judgment. There was no trial and no opportunity for him to stage a defense.

Judge wanted him to produce documents and video of him saying Sandy Hook was a hoax. He couldn’t produce those things because he never said it…

I posted audio of Jones’ actually words spoken from his mouth about sandy hook. He said this on a radio program three weeks after the shooting. He acknowledged and referenced the kids, Adam lanza and the gun used. He said nothing about actors, a hoax or anything.
Skully posted a NYT article written by someone who is not Alex Jones telling us what he said with no actual audio or video of him saying it.

This isn't him saying anything about the parents, but he does immediately bring up the possibility of it being a hoax. So in this case what "they" said he said, he said.
I believe this is a video of his first broadcast after the shooting(?) presented as evidence in court. IAt least 5 times he brings up the possibility of the shooting being a hoax (25:30, 32:30)

That’s not how trials work.
Jones had a chance to present evidence and launch a defense. He chose not to. His legal team submitted zero evidence or discovery to the case. If this opie and Anthony video is all it takes to exonerate him why didn’t they submit it as discovery?

25:30 he says he predicted the profile of the shooter and was correct. Then he says “maybe it was a nut, maybe staged…”
32:30 he brings up the fact FACT that our government has in the past staged events like this to further an agenda. He then suggests it should be looked into.

Staged is an event that actually happened but was set up, in this case by government officials (as a possibility in the deranged mind of AJ).
A hoax implies that it simply didn’t happen.
