A gym that's empty during prime-time after work hours? What could possibly go wrong?
I live in a tourist trap. Fall winter and spring the most you'll ever see in there is about 15 people at one time. I also don't usually go to the gym until close to 7 at night and at that time its usually down to about 5 people and sometimes less. The after work crowd is leaving when I arrive. They make their money in the summer just like every other business around here. In the summer months the place is packed. When colleges let out in May, the crowd at the gym will double as will the lineups in the surf.
