The cultural appropriation thing as a negative is weird to me. Also not sure how much black face is really cultural appropriation.

Whether or not blackface is actually racist depends on your context, but it is not advisable for any reason since it will be looked at negatively (and does have a pretty bad track record). People who like to scream cultural appropriation are the biggest goddam losers I could ever imagine though.
