I would say our politicians have maybe 10 days to execute a plan

Not only that, the Chinese blamed the United States for starting the virus
if you listened to the press conference yesterday trump basically said china started this & then tried to shift the blame to us, trump would not allow it.
President Trump wont back down from China's lack of transparency & false accusations
China should be a pariah after all of this

Who cares about their feelings

At work they told us we should use Zoom to remote teach and I said, I'm not fucking using Zoom.

Anyway, my GF works in the medical field and everyone is working from home and she is saying that zoom is crashing under the load.

Ha-ha.

Old people are smart too.

I'm recording MP3s on my Logic Pro and sending the kids email.

It's like a podcast.

I'm going to play guitar and sing. :poop:

My wife started the Zoom online learning thing yesterday (3rd grade).

Getting that sh!t together in two days was stressful.

But the first session yesterday went well.

They should be looking towards making surgical masks accessible for interaction in public daily life.

This means ramping up production.

The mask tactic seems to be working in Japan, Korea, and a few other places in Asia.

If anything it cuts down on the numbers of those who are contagious from spreading the illness and likely provides some degree of protection for the wearer.

I heard mix results.

Other teachers at my school loved it.

I'm weird.

You can't sustain a teaching at a high level long term if you are not efficient.

All that tech stuff compromises efficiency.

Which seems counter intuitive.

It's fine if you just want to deliver a lecture but that is not what I do.

How are things at the hospital?

The kids loved it, oddly.

Things at the hospital = calm before the storm. Elective surgeries cancelled, etc.

Cases jumped here in SD yesterday.

That is what some teachers said.

It's interesting how you can engage the kids sometimes with tech.

I'm old. I have my own bag of tricks.

As fr as the pandemic, I love the idea that some of the usual suspects are putting forth that the society is over reacting.

That means this goes away faster.

I think we are underreacting.

But that is my hyper vigilance.

I hope I am wrong.

Where the fuck are the masks?

I was out yesterday and I would have loved to wear a mask.

I just washed my hands, kept my distance and didn't dilly dally.

Kids love novelty. No such thing as high quality online teaching for young students. Lemonade at best. old guy out.

I've had the kids be all in with the tech and as soon as we start doing the real work, they lose it.

Yes, cognitive strain is uncomfortable.

I have found the same to be true in my work. I don't know who's worse, high school or college students.
It's too easy to get distracted.

I know I'd end up with two windows open, one with the teacher, and one with the erBB or something, and its obvious to know which one I'd be paying attention to

I hope you're right. I hope this is all an overreaction and not and UNDERreaction. Which do you think is worse?
I honestly think the overreaction can have more long-lasting negative effects, both economically and socially

However, I'm not going to argue anymore, I'm not going to call anyone stupid for freaking out, and I'm going to be more respectful.

I've been saying for a long time that we need a common enemy for us to ever stop being divided, and we have that enemy right now. It's time to fight the virus, not each other

I make the kids go outside to use their devices.

They look at me like, Can he make me do this?

The phones ruined the learning environment.
