Mostly twins feel looser and more free to me. Both fin set ups felt fast, though twin may be faster. quads and me don’t agree when surfing on the face of the wave. I found it harder to go vertical and it would kind of fight me if I remember right (it’s been awhile). I do like quads in barrels and bigger surf though. All ... I've got a Dk Swordfish quad, and I love it. But, I'm also tempted to get one of his twin fin fish (I've never ridden one), too. Can you guys who have ridden both (quads and twins) explain how they surf differently (like why might you like twins and not quads)? I kind of figured that the quads might have almost the same amount of fin surface area as the twins, and so feel similar?
The one exception was my Roberts dream catcher. The quad tears were closer together and I could actually tolerate that board as a quad in average surf. At this point I think I only have one board with the quad option, a step up, and I haven’t even used it as a quad.
