If Bernie won he would have been another Carter. DC outsider. His own party would have fought him on everything and the GOP would finish what the Nancy's couldn't.

The article's premise that the American public is jumping from one fantasy to the next is apt. Biden is not going to address core problems in society.
If Bernie had the Senate I think he could have a transformative Presidency and I disagree the party would fight him, but YMMV.

Regarding the fantasy jumping, I don't think Biden is a fantasy the public is jumping to. I think he's a fantasy for the beltway elite and that's it; I think the (D) primary voter was very pragmatic honestly, not jumping into a fantasy. But I do think Biden thinking he'll work with Mitch and Mitch will work with him is a fantasy, lol and it's a dumb one from where I'm sitting.

I am not sure if Biden will address the core problems in society (inclined to agree with you plus Mitch won't let him), but regarding the lower-middle class/working poor, they're addressing that, or attempting to address that, themselves. On the issues, things like Medicaid expansion in Oklahoma, or $15/hr minimum wage in Florida are clear attempts to do that. It's a single issue state ballot thing that isn't exposed to being "them'd" as a person the way Bernie (or any politician) would. Dade-tards who think Biden is too socialist (you have to be a All-Pro fucking potato to pull this one off) but voted for the minimum wage. Oklahomophobes with 0 counties going blue want ACA provisions...

Time will tell but the dems have some serious problems that even they can't ignore. Loosing seats in the house, Nancy aging out and has groomed no successors. The lower-middle-class will keep trying to get attention and I hope they/we find a political solution. Trump didn't work for them but sounded like a good idea:trout: I hope they don't start blowing things up or we can get the authoritarian gov trump/gop couldn't give us.

AOC and the squad terrify all the Repubs and about half the Dems, even though they represent only a small portion of the political spectrum. They get a lot of press though, both from the liberal media because they're sympathetic and the conservative media necause they want to drum up fear and loathing.
