I've moved on . . . But
go on as long as you like. it's the same schtick as VM - a bunch of random statements without context, time period, country, circumstance etc etc. etc. - all with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.-Vaccine would prevent infection
-Vaccine would prevent transmission
-Efficacy will not decline in 4-6 months
Shall we go on
Which is all fine and well if the people providing the advice/guidance are acting in good faith. That wasn't the case with COVID policy....obviously.go on as long as you like. it's the same schtick as VM - a bunch of random statements without context, time period, country, circumstance etc etc. etc. - all with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.
look, both my family doc and the house doctor gave me ongoing advice over the course of the pandemic, that evolved as updates/data/research/studies/further info became available to the medical community. i fully expected that advice/recs/policy/regulations/etc would change and update over the course of the pandemic, as further info became available, and so they did. does that mean my doc lied to me in the beginning? and the CDC was lying to him? i don't see it that way at all. these last few years were completely uncharted waters - i figure that, at any given time, i got the benefit of the best info available at that time and i feel the same way about my community and my kid's school system etc etc. have no regrets with taking the best advice i could find - it all worked out. ymmv.
You left out the part about 78 years old.
I don't think it was malice...perhaps stupidity....maybe you're right. For the most part it was group think driven by a unquenchable thirst for power in the name of virtue.IF you must, but before you do, might I suggest you apply Hanlon's razor?
Not applying it is where the never fogetters run astray.
You’re not a doctor and you live in your mom’s basement. What do you know?I don't think it was malice...perhaps stupidity....maybe you're right. For the most part it was group think driven by a unquenchable thirst for power in the name of virtue.
I hope it comes soon so they fire up the money printers again. You’re not a doctor and you live in your mom’s basement. What do you know?
Both of my kids and their spouses were current with their vaxes and all four caught it twice.
Wait until the next one, see if there are any lessons learned. Don’t count on it.
Nope. For the previous several thousand years, we quarantined the sick instead of the healthy. There are no trials supporting the latter. Rochelle Walensky's Harvard colleague Marc Lipsitch made up some computer models saying that the latter would be helpful, but he had no trial data supporting this.I don't think it was malice...perhaps stupidity....maybe you're right.
No, it's not obvious to me. Explain to me how my family doctor, as well as my wife, the infectious disease specialist, were not acting in good faith. Maybe I missed something.Which is all fine and well if the people providing the advice/guidance are acting in good faith. That wasn't the case with COVID policy....obviously.
I wouldn't have a clue what your family doctor or wife were advising you to do and to my knowledge neither was involved in government policy. I would hope they were staying up to date with guidance, being curious and critical when necessary and giving you their best opinion. Sadly, this isn't the case in the US as there are still plenty of MD's that just regurgitate guidance without giving it a thought. ...which is why some are on board with vaccinating 5 year olds for instance. To be fair there probably aren't many of these opinions held by doctors in practice. No, it's not obvious to me.
