It’s out of control. Never been so bad. Everyday is like a weekend. Haven’t been out in a couple weeks because I’m tired of getting up at 4 to beat the crowd. Is it the same everywhere? It’s gotten depressing.

crunch time.
this too will pass.
the wicked winds and powerful swells of winter can also cleanse the line-up.

I've noticed it get less crowded as the waves have gone from flat to one foot. Some people got scared.

I guess I’ve taken longer breaks. Stressing because I have another custom coming and I’m not even surfing. Also, I just want to surf. Don’t feel like waiting 30minutes to get parking. Dawn patrol hasn’t been doable for me lately.

wavestorms, foilers, jet foilers, sup clowns... we really need a purge day where its legal to eliminate them all for 24 hours

Not really. Issue is high tide sandbar is in crap shape. No issues with crowds on a weekend hurricane swell two weeks ago, or on the cleanups.

Between missing the back half of the meat of spring, and normal summer doldrums, the issue is sharpness and endurance. Both badly lacking. I am way, way, way worse at surfing than I was in February.

Schools here started back this week, online school any way, and I've notice a drop in crowds this past week between the hours of 8am and 2pm.

I’m hoping school has an effect. Not optimistic with everything virtual.

I didn't expect much either, but it was significantly less crowded. Parents have to stay home with kids and kids of course have to be online, college kids also need to be in attendance digitally.

After 2pm though, it's back to normal sh!t show crowds.

Lower your expectations = not so much distress.
The problem with this is that it becomes easy to say "well, it's shitty and crowded and I'd rather do something else." My expectation has gone from having fun to expecting to be frustrated. I don't even say I'm going surfing anymore -- I go for a swim with my surfboard.

Bodysurfing it super fun tho. Always better than I expect.

The main spots in town are beyond maximum capacity lately. I have to laugh though cuz 5 minutes down the road I can still get plenty of peaks up and down the beach to myself.

Bad news about the crowds in the SB. I will eventually have to come back to LA for work and Porto zone is my morning water time.

In other bad news, just got word Kron's academy is closing, he's moving to Montana. So that's gone too. I'm sure Wild Card Boxing is closed. I have no idea how I'm going to blow off steam because I can't do gyms.

Crowds not too bad by my house. Just one spot that attracts people in the summer, but there are lots of other zones where it's pretty empty.
