How does it paddle? Always been curious about this shape.
Paddling around on it is slow. Mine is basically under water when I’m moving around (duck dives well :rockin:).

Catches waves just as well as HPSB. I had 6’2 Rubble that caught waves with similar effort. I ride mine as a quad only. In my opinion the board is a quad, period.

On steep solid surf it’s a dream.

They are really meant to be ridden short.

I tried a 5’10 and it suuuuuuccccckkkkkked.

A stock 5’10 is 33L.

This is a board you want to pick up from the shop and say, “no fucking way am I going to able to ride a board this small”.

Hmm, guess I would go maybe 5'11-6'0. Just keep with the stock width/thickness or what?
How much do you weigh?
Right now 196ish but going back to 205ish

Does it have low entry rocker that makes it work? Shortest board I have ridden is 6'0 biscuit and j7 firefly. The biscuit might have been 5'10 I dont remember. Im worried if I go less than 6'0 I wont have enough rail on an overhead day nor enough paddle power.

Firefly has less rocker.

I ride my 5’8 WS in as big of surf as I can catch with it. Yes the rail is short but the quad setup mitigates this and it has a more “parallel” outline.

I’ve ridden it in DOH T’s and reeling low tide points at solid sizes and it fucking works.

My old OTR WS had the same tail and usable rail line as my old OTR semi-pro that was 6’4.

I have a 6’5 Fort Knox and the WS catches waves easier.

It’s a different type pf board for sure. I have told people who want them big to just get a M-13 instead. I think the M-13 is a better board above 6’0 in length than the WS.

Just my opinion.

I think if your “normal” HPSB is 35L then a 5’10 (33L) will be the ticket.

All of this is assuming that your abilities are of the “advanced” level. Considering the board I bought from you it is a safe assumption.

You’re going to want to stay in shape though.

Well my dd/hpsb run more like 36-38 depending on shape and what type of foam. if a 5'8 WS has a usable rail line equivalent to a 6'4 rubble then I suppose I could try a 5'10 WS which may translate to a 6'5-6'7 standard hpsb.
