Uh, duh, I might reckon it would be optimum conditions.
Or would you prefer 20 mph onshore?

No devil wind, but strong offshore is fine.

That’s just me and my Byrning Spears. You won’t have a more crisp, razor sharp feeling of board through water.

Thanks. Not too tracky tho as far as top turns and tight arcs?

A CB WS would be good. Almost ordered channels on the on I just had made. Decided against it at the last minute.

"I keep reading that channels hate chop,"

Just another page from the Rolodex of Surfing BS .

Royce Cansler called from the beach with concerns of his first go out and it being windy .

I chuckled and he learned its BS .

What length WS do you ride? Longer or shorter than your height?

Nope - not in my experience. There's a lot of rocker through those channels.

I haven't surfed my Byrning Spears a lot in sh!t/average conditions, but not because I'm afraid it won't do well. I keep it 'fresh' for really nice days, because it feels so fricken good.

If they didn’t work in chop or offshores they would be obsolete. That’s a pretty narrow range of conditions if that was the case.

Possibly my all time favorite board was a 5’10 Roberts channel bottom. Worked great in chop, glassy and offshore conditions.

5’8 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/8 which is stock dims but I had them pinch the rails a little.

I’m just under 6’2 and weigh 185ish.

I would never ever want one anywhere near my height.

You’re 6’4 - 6’5?

For you a 5’10 max.

I don’t think the design sizes up very well beyond 5’10.

My “normal” volume is around 32.

My WS is 29 and it works just fine.

How does it paddle? Always been curious about this shape.

I have had plenty of channel bottoms

The ones that were single concave did not have the same range as the others

Flat or shallow single to vee out the tail are the best ones

Also I noticed fin toe angel was important. Less toe is better
