Going by my personal observations big trucks are driven by small dudes. Peen size we’ll just have to infer because I’m not in the habit of checking.

I drive a 2004 Tacoma.
I drive an 04 Tundra, which basically has the same frame dims as the newer Tacomas. A V8 but not by any means what would be considered a full size pickup truck these days.

The truck is ugly as hell and looks downright bizarre. I thought the entire reveal was a joke and at some point the real truck would come out.

That said, the value of this truck at the price is ridiculous. A bomb proof, state of the art electric truck that goes 250 miles for under $40k has me tempted.

The base Rivian is $70k and it likely won’t be as good as the base cybertruck at $40k. But damn it’s hideous.

this, fvck yeah. at $50k, it suddenly vaults into serious consideration, no matter what it looks like.

“By being philosophically so pure and so functional, Tesla has completely eliminated a very large part of what is the traditional automotive assembly,” he says. The company might cut down on expensive tool and die costs by keeping all elements of the car flat, straight, and, frankly, a little weird looking. “Musk might be pulling off one of the most brilliant moves in automotive history,” he says.

I don't love it but maybe it will grow on me. The main thing I don't care for is the slanted bed sides. It makes it a bit more difficult to access stuff near the front of the bed from the the outside.

As far as the specs and price it's definitely poised to shake things up.

I was just at the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. I was there with some Art Center College of Design students. They have automotive design classrooms in the museum. I was looking at the student art and saw this VW T10 concept (T= transporter aka the bus, vanagon, eurovan). I kind of like it, especially the pod idea-

That's weird looking. $50K. I thought Tesla cars were way more?
