I'm always suspicious when an attractive woman engages with me out of the blue.
She's opens and I can't help but respond all friendly.
Then there is the split second where my spider senses kick in.
Something isn't right here . . . .
This reminds me of a few things
1 Walking to the SF MOMA. Youngish woman in form fitting garments and interesting hairstyle stops me.
"You new in town?"
"No, I live here."
"Hey that is interesting. Can I give you my card?"
(her hand is thrust out, card in hand)
"Oh, ok...(looks at card)
"I'm on stage every day for the next month at 6 PM, just hand the card to the doorman, he'll let you in."
(she sashays to next mark)
Umm, thanks.
(no reply)
2 Walking to work through Tenderloin. Youngish woman in tattered clothing but friendly smile and wide awake eyes comes up to me
"Hello. Are you lost?"
"No, on my way to work."
"Want to get coffee with me?
"No thanks, got to get to work."
"How about a BJ? You look like you could use one."
(is that how I look to others?)
"Ok, well....."
"$40"
"uhhhhh"
"That isn't too much."
"Probably not, but no thanks."
(she pouts and turns away)
3 Walking on the beach, in a wetsuit, surfboard under my arm, looking for a rip. Youngish woman in leggings/tights and down puffy coat come over to me.
"Excuse me..."
"Yes?"
"How cold do you get out there?'
"Not to cold, the wetsuit helps a lot."
"You look familiar, are you famous?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Who do you think I am?"
"A famous surfer. Were you famous in the 90s?" (this was in the 00s)
"No."
"Really?"
"Yes, I surf lots, but am not famous."
"Too bad."
"Why?"
(she smiles mischievously and walks off)
