You say my dominant emotional appeal is disgust. Yet you are the one using adjectives to describe anyone who disagrees with you as "crazy, f@cking nuts, etc." That is more dishonest framing.

You always revert back to ad-hominem because you have no data. It makes you look uninformed and angry.

More projection.

Socialists always think the have they upper hand because they view truth as "subjective" and conservatives view it as "objective." Lies always snap back in reality at some point though.
More disgust on your part.

It's not ad hominem if you really are crazy.

I stand by my assertion that you are an angry nut job.

I am not arguing with you.

Just making an obsersvation.

Everyone is crazy to a degree.

I like said, what I am stuck by is the anger and disgust coming from you super religious posters.

You might want to talk to someone about that.

"...effective discourse. "

Ok, let's try that.

Here's a question:

" Sir, would you say that the government using facial recognition at airport entry points is, let's just say, an "in-your-face" indication of things being, quite Orwellian? "

It's just a question, and there is no need to assume the person asking the question, is acting in "bad faith", or "crazy" and second guessing the other persons views about things yet future?

...I am goingoutside now...some folks willingly, getting an unknown substance injected into them..at the request of tyrants....

....now that's an example of.... nut's....and crazy!
Depends

Dr Stefan Lanka is an AIDs denier, antivaxxer, and conspiracy theorist

oy vey

round and round we go, where we'll stop.... we already know!
If you're going to go full ad homo....at least be accurate....

Dr. Stefan Lanka claims there's no proof that HIV caused AIDs (same claim for SARs CoV 2 causing Covid-19).

And if that's the case what's the injection for (i.e. not a separate issue)?

Then, conspiracy theorist is just a label aimed at discrediting someone when you have no basis or data to present for a reasonable counter argument.

Go full ad homo you did....most certainly.

Pfizer applying for full FDA approval. If that comes through does that change the minds of any concerned about Emergency Use Authorization?

So citing the EUA as a justification for not getting the shot is just motivated reasoning?
FYI "motivated reasoning" is not a real logical fallacy according to Peter Kreeft. On page 80 of "Socratic Logic", he shows how attributing a personal motive for a logical reason is actually engaging in the genetic fallacy.
The Freudian emphasis on the subconscious has made this fallacy popular today. E.g. it is often thought that monarchists believed in God because they subconsciously wanted the universe to be hierarchical in order to justify their hierarchical society.
ibid
The form of logic you teach is not classical logic: it's a blend of psychology, some classical logic, and modern logic. Kreeft talks about this and its problems earlier in the book.

My point was that trust in institutions have collapsed, so FDA approval will not matter. Instead, the distrust of Pfizer and Moderna will simply shift to the distrust of the FDA, an institution very much in decline. People will have their own reasons - many of them subconscious - for taking the vaccine or abstaining. Mostly, they seem to be making the right decisions based on their health status.

Who said it was a logical fallacy?

Not me

That is your straw man who is not I.

I would say it's a pattern of automatic thinking, either a heuristic or a cognitive bias depending on the conclusion.

And who said I teach logic?

I do a little rhetoric, but mostly I train the kids to turn their work on time and revise their draft so the work is close to college level.
