Can’t find the thread we previously discussed this in.

Seems that they are going to be charged for federal hate crimes now.

I still think the guy who bought the home is also at fault

From the article, is this"Almost 49% of racially motivated hate crimes targeted Blacks, followed by 16% against whites, according to the 2019 FBI data."

Crazy figures considering blacks are only about 15% of national population they are reported to be over three times that percentage victims of hate crimes, while the number for white victims, 16% is higher than I would have thought. I am sure there are considerably more hate crimes against whites than are ever reported or seen as such. I never hear about that.
Many people even have the mentality that hatred of whites can't even be called racism.
All that said, the Hawaiian situation aside, I feel for the couple, the victims in maui, but turning a blind eye to historic and yet ongoing wrongs against people who are different, seems to garner ever increasing consequences.
This back and forth will never ballance out and neutralize. There's just not enough resources to go around. Too many different perspectives, beliefs, desires, tastes, habits and budgets.
We should honestly try to respect others, but I don't think selfishness should always be discounted as wrong.

I have no opinion.

To judge someone by one's appearance of race is called racism.

Wrongfully attributing them traits or behaviour, previously displayed by other members
of that race, as well.

To exclude someone from another (racial)group is called discrimination.

To say that everyone visually resembling a group or race, commits the same acts
as other members of that group or race is called generalisation.

As stated in the Universal Declaration of Human rights, every one person is to be free of act
and thinking, regardless of race or color.

As long as he does not take away that freedom from another person.

If one does take away another person's rights, he should be taken his own freedom,
untill he does that no more..

disgraceful.

however,

one of the top 5 golden rules is:

“DON’T TRY TO FIT IN,
WHERE YOU DON’T FIT IN.”

no tears when you ignore this rule
and something bad happens...

That character Kaonohi sounds like a real piece of work who needs to be locked up.

In the vernacular of the erBB, that is known as "Assimilate or leave!!"

I believe Hawaii did away with their "duty to retreat" thing and went with a modified Castle Doctrine. Meaning you can shoot someone for assaulting you on your home/property instead of legally requiring you to run for your life.

Don't mind me. I'm just here to start trouble.

Now, if you will excuse me, I need to finish up my "Rambo Goes Hawaiian" script.

Aloha go boom.
