what to do with car key when in ocean?

Hello

Am getting into surfing and wanted to know what the best options to do with the car key.

I was thinking of gettings a simple key made without the remote control nor RFID (needed to start the car) and tie it one a string and wear it aound my neck under my wetsuit.

The idea is that I would leave the regular car key locked in the cr and use the simple key just to unlock the vehicle.

I just got a Rip Curl Omega suit and don't beleive it has a key pocket.

Tie a string to it and put in "nature's pocket", if your car alarm goes off, it's too big for you out there.

Stash it someplace on your car, bumper well is a good spot, or how about your leash, most of mine have a key pocket.

Buy a Ford with the keypad entry by the driver side door. I've had it on two vehicles now. Best auto invention ever for surfers.

the beach I plan to go to has teenagers that watch for people putting keys on top of their tires.

My friend use to put the key under his flipflops on the beach and when he got out of the ocean he found that someone took his key. Luckily his car was still there, it just took him 2-3 hours of delay to get someone to get his spare key to him
