There are ways around that bro ala go old school and roll in. “I see John John and Kelly psyched on being under the lip and taking off in the most critical spot and that freaks me out just looking at that sh!t,” says Craig. “I’d prefer to sit way out and paddle as fast as I can to get into a wave.”

then all you have to worry about is wiping out lol. Board like that makes padding out a lot easier too, especially if you’re in between sets

Dream wave, that looks sooooo fun.
Too zoomed in to show that there’s shoulders for days bro cept for @ 58 seconds. That’s the whole point of an Apache type board, you get the opportunity to get in wicked early on waves where your standard hpsb means navigating the drop while still retaining the ability to duck dive albeit technique is more important but that is far outweighed by paddling and tube riding ability
