that it is...

has a tapered cedar stringer from 1/2"- 1/8th".
The writings of manny inspired me. I figure hey...if i am gonna make myself a new fish...why not go big and get something noone else in the water has <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

ever thought about how much the boxes effect the tail flex? i do. i think fcs would be best to maintain flex...

yeah actually i have. i am using lokbox becaus ei like the system the best. Plus i think it will allow more flex than glassons. dont ya think?

even so...fins or no fins...this thing is fuggin flexy. just pickking up the blank and pulling it a tad u notice. Kinda neat.

I figured if i was going to go with tapered stringer might as well go as tapared as possible and then make it disappear <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.

Now i think i am going to go start working on Sflasurfers board. either that or the fish...whichever looks more fun <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

last of the epoxys heading to japan just got its belly glassed. now i gotta time it and cut dem laps.

Epoxy sucks to do tints with. Whenever i run outta resin i cnat just throw some mekp in a bucket of tinted resin and squegee...to much mixing. Plus it wants to bubble alot.

this is a 7'3" funboard. Got alot of old school design concepts on it. Very soft rails...little belly into vee in the tail. this went from beign the ugliest board (after i cut the outline like a 2 year old with a chainsaw) to one of my favorites. Looks likeit would be fun on small days. Ill post a full board shot later

DK <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

EDIT: I have no fukkin clue why the tail looks all gnarly like there is water on it <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />. im gonna say the mixture of the sunlight and the flash doing wierd things

DK, you should consider posting a thread here and swaylocks about flexibility and durability of epoxy vs poly vs vinylester resins.
The one true vinylester resin board I had would dent easily, not delam, and rode soft, considering it was that carbon M-2 cloth. I've had several M-2 boards with regular poly, and it was a jolting ride.
Just food for thought....and what resins did GGreenough use?
Other thing... maybe extra layers of cloth, no hotcoat or gloss coat. Resin just cracks, and lams without resin coat are sealed if squeegeed well.

i actually have it all figured out. got an overhead light, and a few lights to the sides near the roof. certain angles it gives off shadows.

It definately does take much longer though. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Proper lighting is a must if you want to take your craft to the next level. Don't skimp. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shameonyou.gif" alt="" />
He's got daylight 10 feet away. A 50 yr shaper around here still won't shape anything he can't take out into the sunlight for a better look. For a true de-lumping.
