The man is proven liar, adulterer and business cheat, just ask anyone who has lent him money or worked for him.

The assumption is that supporters trust trump implicitly

That is false

He says what he will do then does exactly that

If people trust him, it is because his actions broadly line up with his promises

Many were skeptical that he would actually attempt to enact his promises

He has demonstrated that he was/is serious

So his base support is bulletproof

Except he hasn't done a lot of things he said he would.

Is 25% enough to carry the day?

I had very very low expectations for Trump as president. Didn't even vote for him. I really did think he was a liberal progressive masquerading as a Republican. He has exceeded my expectations so far.
I know, tariffs and bailouts, so Conservative.

He’s going to be gone. They’re all going with him. You’re about to be governed by the liberals you despise.

With all of the Macy’s closing, where will you visit Santa this year?

He's more dishonest then even GromsDad was hoping he'd be.

That's saying something.

I never knew a man could tell so many lies
He had a different story for every set of eyes
How can he remember who he's talking to?
'Cause I know it ain't me, and hope it isn't you

It's apparent that his supporters like him despite the untruths, not because of them. Trump has taken "character does not count" to an extreme that will change politics forever.

Candidates who were previously forced out for their affairs can now proceed without fretting the backlash. Now it's going to come down to whether or not they made someone feel bad, either during or after the fact.
