🇺🇸: 16.6% of GDP

Uninsured:

🇺🇸: 28 million

The US does spend too much on healthcare

But I wouldn’t put to much stock in the life expectancy thing

The populations of the US and UK are way different

If you back out a couple of subgroups in the US it wouldn’t surprise me if our life expectancy is higher

I'm sure it's nothing to do with the fact that one system is run for the health of the people and the other for the health of the shareholder's bank accounts.

Preventative care in the US is non-existent, for that reason, amongst others.

We just have different populations so it’s not comparing apples to apples

UK has Scots though so that might balance out

I believe in the SOTU he indicated he was going to "go after drug dealers." He had a bullet point on the issue and that was pretty much the sum/total of his speech on that particular re opiates. I don't know why he even bothered.

Although I don't know what he could possibly do that could have any impact. Legalization has worked in a few countries now, but that isn't happening here.
