The question is: Why am I even having this discussion?
[/QUOTE]

Can think of a few reasons...
- Nice to know where you live...
- Re learn why you think you live on a water covered globe spinning and translating thru a vacuum...
- Forces you to really think things thru using logic. Science. Physics. Kinematics. Optics. Weather. Geography. Maps. Math. Others.
- Learn a ton of stuff you did not already know in the process.
- Discernment development. Own what you know.
- To investigate a divisive claim you need to fully understand all the talking points....both sides...and then make decisions...sorta like the requirements for being a juror on a criminal trial
- If they're lying about this...wtf else?

Can also think of a few reasons not to...because we've been programmed to react this way
- avoidance of ridicule and negative judgement from others...'cause you know it's gonna happen.
- ...consensus is where it's at...join the indoctrinated non think for yourself club...
- fear of losing friends and family...I know something about this...
- ...job and lively hood $$$
- Because you believe everything "Scientists" tell you and you love your space based religion. NASA fanboy/girl...
- Mostly $$$$
