I'm truly not trying to be a dick here, but maybe you
or another shaper on this board can help me understand
this better. Why does a custom quad fish cost $110 more than a custom quad shortboard?
Is a fish that much harder to shape or does it take substantially longer? Is it that the glassing is heavier and/or more difficult?
Having never shaped or glassed a board myself, I really
don't know...just curious. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />
By the way, Ian does shape killer quad fish that are well
worth his cost...I had one a while back that hauled ass.

would guess the extra shaping &amp; glassing contribute to it. maybe the fish blank costs extra <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

ian i took my 5'8 speedfish out in some chest-head waves, overhead on the sets, and the board flew. i felt really stable on it even though conditions were macking, big arcs and speed speed speed. i feel stupid i took it out in the wrong conditions before. i can honestly say its the fastest board ive been on, because that whole day it was head high NE swell with really lined up walls, and i kept going in switching out my MSF, quads, and thrusters, and your speedfish definately flew. ian makes a mean board. got any pics of the ones you're selling?

What are the nose and tail dimensions on the 5'6" twin? What's the bottom like?
