I used to teach in SD Unified. Every year some gym coach would run off to Mexico to start a new life with a 16 year old named Ashleigh or Taylor or some sh!t. Univ City may have certain squeaky clean facades but I did my stint living down the road from there next to plenty of registered sex offenders.

We had a gym teacher/coach in HS (in Fresno) who rumor had it got involved with female students. Dunno how true it was, but this was the 80s and no one gave a sh|t about that stuff back then, it seemed. That this guy in UC was a science teacher is kind of odd, I thought history teachers were more prone to that stuff.

My Alma Mater.... There was also a math teacher/cross country coach that taught there when I was a student that got busted a few years back on some type of child porn charges.
My friends that are HS teachers have all kinds of stories about nubile, hyper-developed, daddy-issue-addled sexpot aggression and that a high tolerance is definitely needed.

I just saw in our local news that a guy I've known for about 5 years, he's been my assistant coach on our sons' baseball team, was just arrested for possessing/distributing child porn. I feel bad for his wife and stepson, who also goes to school with my son.

I would assume that internet receipts have changed the game and made catching people far easier, in addition to creating far more opportunities. It's also made the actions easier, under what many perceive as online anonymity.
