Wrong

Checks and balances operate between the different branches (exec, congress and courts)

Fed agencies are part of the exec branch

The president is the head of the exec branch

Agency employees have no authority to disobey the president

Their only option if they don’t like his policies is to resign

This is fundamental sh!t
Uh no. Their loyalty is to the truth.

Regurgitating POTUS lies is not in the civics rules.
Uh no, their loyalty is to the citizens that they serve. Since bureaucrats are unelected, that means they fall under the purview of their bosses that are actually elected.

The government, both elected and unelected agencies, are our servants. Don't forget that

You've got the first part right, they serve the citizens. You should have stopped there.

What would have happened if "unelected agencies" went along with Nixon?

Nixon was elected, right? :poke: [/quote]

The constitution sez impeach or GTFO

BTW only congress can impeach

That’s your check/balance

Not clerks

And yet, still, no charges of any significance leading back to the Trump campaign colluding with Russians.

I'm sure, like any political campaign, they working "for/with" anyone others as well. That's how political campaigns are.

Manafort, the seemingly big fish here - who has worked for countries in Africa and Saudi Arabia - was working for pro-Russia parties in the Ukraine. Still, no connection to Russian interference as this time.

In fact, as far as anyone in connection with the Trump campaign, no one has been indicted on anything showing collusion.

and the Russians hacked the DCCC and then the DNC, took data, and used Wikileaks to
mask their identity upon release.

and the Russians directed spearphishing attacks on state election officials that ran VR Systems
because they were capable of compromising that system.
No evidence has shown the Trump campaign being connected to any of this.

Billy's assertion is baseless and without merit while the investigation he is trying to malign
has yielded a number of indictments and convictions (with more pending).
If you investigate people in a political campaign you're going to find financial crooks and connections to foreign governments.

Acting shocked about this is retard.

Has there been any charge of any real significance connecting the Trump campaign to colluding with Russia to steal the election?

No.

so when you say something like this:

"there is a mounting pile of publicly known details that supports the Russia narrative" is a bit ridiculous.
I think you're being a bit ridiculous if not willingly obtuse.
I asked before, what exactly is the Russia narrative?

Really, I don't know what you're meaning by the Russia narrative.

It seems the definition keeps changing.

Since most ignored this Hill piece (as many on the left like to post stories from) on the Cohen thread, which was out of context for it, here it is again in a more relevant OP.....

"This month, they finally got the chance to ask. Strzok declined to say — but Page, during a closed-door interview with lawmakers, confirmed in the most pained and contorted way that the message in fact referred to the quality of the Russia case, according to multiple eyewitnesses."

"The admission is deeply consequential. It means Rosenstein unleashed the most awesome powers of a special counsel to investigate an allegation that the key FBI officials, driving the investigation for 10 months beforehand, did not think was “there.” "

>> one-fbi-text-message-in-russia-probe-should-alarm-every-american <<

There's plenty of incriminating texts by both Strzok and Page in this story. Hard to ignore.

I like how certain people rail against unelected "clerks". What do they want?

A 5000 page ballot with every civil servant in America on it every 4 years?

Or do they just want everybody at all levels of the government to profess 100% fealty to the President?

Or do they just want the rest of government at all levels to step aside and let the President do whatever the hell he wants?

Or do they just want to get rid of large swaths of government completely, especially law enforcement and intelligence agencies such as the DOJ, CIA, FBI, and NSA?

Practically speaking we need the clerks

But they don’t get to decide policy

That’s the point

To devolve their power and lessen their ability to impact our lives.

And less of them. Millions less of them.

I'm glad there are Government officials that can explain to President Dumass the difference between "would" and "wouldn't." Given his historically low approval rating, I'm guessing most Americans feel the same.

When the president thinks that handing over American officials, including an Ambassador, to Putin's intelligence service, I'm glad there are deep state "Clerks" who can stop him from actually doing it. Most Americans feel the same.

(Speaking of that deal, where's the outrage from the "Hillary Did Benghazi" crowd about the fact that the President praised that proposal while standing next to Putin?)

Anyone who thinks that too much power is given to the Executive Branch should be glad that there are at least some "Clerks" keeping that power in check, because the Republican held congress sure isn't doing it. I think most Americans feel the same way. Most Americans are glad there there are at least some grown-ups around to babysit President Tantrum.

Trump's support really has become cult-like.

Trump could go out on 5th Ave., shoot a guy right in the face, and Trump's supporters would say the media isn't treating him fairly.

It's fuckingCrazy.
