Worth a read including the comments. My run as a surfer dad is just about over as the youngest of my three will be 19 next week. Its actually been something that's been on my mind the past few weeks coming off of what may be the last of many surf dad travel adventures. It was a hell of a run from teaching them each to surf, making them boards, shuttling them to contests and watching them each have their successes and failures in the contest arena, surf trips up and down the East Coast in the car, waiting in airports and scoring waves on the West Coast and in the Caribbean together. Cheers to the other surf dads out there and if you're early on in the journey, don't blink.
The profound importance of Surfer Dads
"You (surfer dad) pushed me in to it at just the right time. I felt the momentum of the wave and was shocked by its immediate power."
