Tina Turner vibes with that hair
GF wants to name her Bea Arthur. I’ve been calling her Helen cause she’s deaf and blind.

we’re currently on our way home from the vet. She’s got a chip, but unfortunately it’s never been registered.

DOGOWNERS! Make sure your chips are registered and login periodically to make sure your address and phone numbers are up to date if you move.

Thank you for everything you do for dogs, Skully. How about Andy (as in Warhol)?

Just doing what I hope someone else would do for my dog if he was lost and scared.
I hope you’re able to find the doggie’s family. A dog taken care of like that, someone is missing their friend.

Love this thread.
Got a question for everyone about mild epilepsy.
My buddy Coho had a couple of seizures, one on the 2nd and another on the 11th, nothing since.
We took him to the vet after his first after totally freaking us out. Fortunately, both only lasted 1 minute or less.
The vet told us it is not entirely uncommon, especially with his breed (herding).
He is in A-1 excellent health and shape.
The vet referred us to a specialist down in Ventura for a possible MRI (starting at $4000:oops:) because he couldn't find anything causing the seizures.
Anyone have similar experiences?

plus I can use all the good karma I can get right now.

We registered for a 30 day “shelter at home” with the city shelter to keep her with us instead of the shelter. If the owner doesn’t turn up in that time I’ve already been in touch with this place and a couple other rescues that focus on senior dogs…

Does he take oral tick or heart worm meds? My dog does but I have heard it can be a side effect.

Yea, he's been on Brevecto (flea/tick med) since he was 6mos old and that was one consideration by the vet but, in his opinion not likely.
We're going to give him a preventative daily med to start with, and hopefully, within a year we can get him off of it if he doesn't experience any more episodes.
Fingers crossed.

Chimu can be a little melancholy, the schitzu is as cheerful as they come

Not sure if I could do that. GF would have to put out an amber alert for my ass. Take care of yourself bruh, I know this ain’t easy.
As sad as it is, it would only be worse if i made a whole legal thing about it. And even if I “won” how would that really feel?

“congrats to me! broke my wife’s heart AND successfully fought a legal battle depriving her of the closest thing she will ever have to children”

it‘s all sad so, at least I know they will be happy with her, and she with them.

Are you going to drive them there or ship them?
Private pet transport. Ive heard good things, especially for dogs that may not be suitable for flying. Daisy would be fine, nothing rattles her, but Chimu is 13, and has always been a nervous nelly. its a husband and wife team, probably in “retirement” and they enjoy getting paid to drive long hauls with peoples‘ pets.

not as expensive as I would have thought either.

sorry, I debated even posting this, such a downer. It was either on this thread or the Mental Health thread

I had unofficial visitation rights with an ex’s dog a ways back. The dog was 100% hers. Parents gifted it to her right when we got together but I did all the work walking it and potty training it and bonded with it as a pack leader. When we broke up she was decent enough to let me take him for weeks at a time. And he helped me rebound getting me laid a lot. I was never one to be a pick up artist but man was he an ace in the hole at the uppity dog parks. It was like fish in a barrel with him. Over time the visits got less and less. Then she got married and moved to Brooklyn. I didn’t think it was right once she had a husband so I let it go and never saw him again. About theee years ago I was in the middle of a bad fight with my current gf when the ex called. I didn’t answer but she left a message because she thought I should know her dog died. I was pretty broken up about it and felt like I’d abandoned him. Didn’t have it in me to call her back. Still kinda regret it.

but as special a place as all the dogs from my past hold in my heart there’s always room to love the next dog more. @Subway someday when you’re ready a new dog will win your love and be your best friend.
