Just ordered a 3/2 in LT off the Crooked website. For anyone looking to try yamamoto, Crooked is 20% off with promo code HOLIDAY2023 or skippersurf. Best deal I've found thus far.

I’ve had a good experience with a Quik “Everyday Session” or something like that 3/2 over the past year. Still going strong without the nut leak almost every suit gets. Just tried a new Vissla 4/3 Seven Seas today and so far, so good. Not super stretchy, but comfortable enough. Time will tell.

Never tried one but I don’t really want my mouth and nose covered while surfing. If it was that cold where I thought i would need that I’d go snowboarding.

shoulders on the hyperfreak fire are tight AF. I don’t remember them like this on my psycho1. suit does have me sweating a yeast factory downstairs thank goodness for the generous space nuts to shoulders.

is feral 4/3 about as warm as O’Neil 4/3? I’m ready to relegate the fire to cold cold air mornings only.

Today's 4/3s are yesterdays 3/2s. Got to go up a mil in thickness to get the same warmth.
Does this apply to all suits? Yamamoto included? Seeing mixed reviews. Some say yamamoto is warmer compared to same mil non yamamoto.

I just ordered a 3/2 Crooked and wondering if I need to change to a 4/3?

I’ve been wearing Matuse for the past 3 years and it seems thinner but warmer. Todays wetsuits can do that.

I’ll take a warm 4/3 any day over a 2mm or 3/2 that advertises to be as warm as thinner counterparts in my relatively (52) old age. I’d rather be warm and do some neck flushes to cool things down as opposed to getting chilled and paddling around the lineup trying to stay warm during lulls. All my suits are Yamo, but there’s only so much insulation a thin suit can offer despite the source material.

If I was surfing a 30 minute heat and was much younger I may feel the advantage of a thinner suit, but I want to be comfortable and be able to swing on set waves and not worry about being cold and stiff when a proper wave roles through.
