Is anyone watching this reality series on Amazon Prime? It has some tropes of a typical reality series (forced conversations and unlikely encounters), but it has some very good footage of young women either at or trying to enter the highest levels of competition in their sport. Many of them are easy on the eyes, and have a lot more going for them than just surfing.

I think this is the series where someone (Jen See on BeachGrit) whined how it was absolutely RUINED by putting the emphasis on these gals as competitive surfers, trying to qualify for the WSL tour rather than emphasising their cultural connections and exemplary and groovy surfing-based lifestyles.

The Executive Producer is the recently departed WSL CEO Erik Logan?

Sorry, haven’t seen.
I think a retrospective of surf bogans from Australia’s 1980s might explain why watching surfing still doesn’t appeal to anyone other than surfers.
its a niche “sport”. The culture is unique.
we love it, the uninitiated never will.
No amount of cheesy marketing will make it much bigger than it is already.
