teenage brainwave sensibility test # 4:

in 1970 i actually went to see grand funk railroad as the top-billed band at the fillmore east. i rightly concluded that they were a bunch of assholes…

i still played my closer to home cassette frequently….

on an earlier album they had a song titled t.n.u.c. - took me a while to figure that out - loss of teenage coolness right there…

a somewhat interesting side note - the old fillmore east space later became the saint, a special clientele dance club. maybe frvcvs, on the infrequent times he snuck out of his brooklyn dorm and ventured into manhattan, could regale us with stories of furtively dancing to it’s raining men…

and any nyu alums ?
