Thanks! Not sure of the shipping routes. I know they eliminated most of the direct flying routes to Kaua'i which is where we're headed though. Thought about reaching out to Bird...other recommendations appreciated!
As for Autoprax's reply...I'm somehow finding it pretty amusing!
Only place that you'll be able to ride your "gliders" is the Bay. South Shore / Poipu won't handle those large boards, maybe Waiohai, not Center's or PK's and certainly not Acid Drops. Maybe one spot on the West side.
Be proficient, on either board if you're riding Hanalei Bay. Only spot to really ride a "glider." Best use a leash. There are longboard riders who surf without a leash, in there 70's, both shapers, lifers on the north shore. Folks have no problem in calling other's out on drop in's. Some get sent to the beach just because. The north shore is a small, tight surfing community. You, your boards, your car and license plates will all get the once over. Just how it is when your "new" in town.
Seems like a lot of new folks moving to Kauai. Costco soft tops. Jeep all rigge with out of state plates. Big vans trying to go feral with out of state plates overnighting at a beach.
Get your shots before you fly. Kauai is supposed to reopen in April of some time.
