Saw a nice little set up today on a walking tour of Ellwood Devereaux Open Space Preserve.

Does this stretch of beach get good in winter?

Looked fun today. 20190917_103521.jpg

Water is oily AF and bunch of stu csb kooks out there. Cal taco has good food if you are in the area
don't miss the oil & tar. but least in my day actually didn't mind all the kook beginners. meant it was SO easy to get any wave I wanted. then if it was 6'+ you'd practically be out there by yourself.

To this day true all kooks run to cam'Puss and devro anytime its over 4'. Still no problem everyone is looking for shoulder to hop and if you actually drop peak you well be solo.

If it was 6 foot plus, over 90% of the waves would be unmakeable closeouts, which is why you'd be practically by yourself.

Yup. Pretty much nailed it. It's probably my favorite beach outside of Hawaii, and it's definitely not for the waves

How's the conference?
I have liked most of the sessions. Some are death by powerpoint. The mobile workshops are the best. I'm going to the Dangermond Preserve tomorrow. The best part is exploring parts of SB I've never been to on someone else's dime. Getting $76 a day for food is nice. I'm drinking primo wine.

Alot of my sessions are on climate change and sea level rise.
