Arrggh...foiled again!

I'm a foil man. All are important; harmony and balance must be achieved. But if I have to pick one as the most fundamental it's foil. It's gotta have the right balance, thick and thin where I want it to be. Rails are second, for catch-free control. Rocker's probably more important than I realize, but nowadays it's just too complex and subtle for me to do much more than trust my shaper.

Foil
Foil can be described as the rate of change of volume throughout the board. Good foil is the correct balance of all the other curves. If you look at an old longboard or even a shortboard from 7 or 8 years ago and you compare them with their modern couterparts you'll notice how thick, and crude the older models are.

nep - that was very inspiring. I'm voting for some foil. Floridan ballot indeed! TWPFF

Somewhere, in the back of my mind, I recall some top shaper saying something about how foil was the most important. I also recall said shaper being well-respected enough that I believed it. So I'm going with foil.

This is the hardest decision I've ever made on a poll here. I'm gonna think about it and really make the right choice before voting.
