The canine is off to the right, sulking, as he's not allowed on the new sod.......surely planning his next dump on it, when I'm not looking......bastard does it twice a week, as payback

As far as the "dog" in the photo......I don't see one, and unless you've ridden all my boards, how would you know who's barking?

Easy cowboy. TFAD was referring to my quiver pic, which included my dog Zak, I think.

No worries WYD!!!

As far as my dog Hobie is concerned - I was going to put him in the pic, but like I said, he's pissed at me for not letting him on the sod (he's a "digger"), and probably would have lifted his leg on the quiver as a sign of letting "The Man" have it.........as mentioned, each week, I get two fresh piles of crap as payback......fun stuff, huh? I should just by him a board from China, and let him go to town on it......

well i would rather see a quiver like yours with 6 or so different shapes...than someone with 10 6'2" with different tails... that always gets me

I hear you on that, DK. I just found a pic of my quiver from about 2 years ago. Most of the boards looked exactly the same, as you said (in my case, all were around 6'4 - 6'6, basic thrusters). THAT was when I made the decision to diversify

Thanks Chip.

Mi quiver es su quiver (and that applies to all BB'rs who want to swap.....hell, I got the McCoy Nugget from trading a BB'r for a Merrick that I never rode).

Here's a good example of having the diverse quiver: I just got into the office after surfing one of the spots in San Diego that requires a boat (a co-worker invited me, and we got the green light from the boss to come in late).

We knew it was supposed to be pretty small, so I wanted to bring the new quad fish. I was pulling into my driveway last night, and realized I just pulled the biggest bonehead move, in a long time.....I left the fish in my office.

So, this morning at 5:00am, I grabbed the trusty Nugget. We motor out there, and it's SMALL. The other 3 guys I'm with are all riding standard thrusters, and it's waist high, with the occasional chest high set (we were lucky enought to each get one shoulder high wave a piece), but overall, guess who had the most fun?

nice efficient quiver, no overlap.

I agree with you on the Nugget. Those that have never rode one will never understand what we're discovering here.

Thought I'd let you know that I'll get to test mine in some real good size hawaiian scale waves this weekend as it's 4-6 on the southside. That at least 10'-15' faces, so it'll be a good test for my 7'11" surftech single fin McCoy.

I'll report back the results..

Aloha

got to ride my McCoy nugget in some reasonable sized waves at last. 8-10 foot faces maybe 3-4 solid hawaiian scale. I missed the big swell which hit tuesday but that's the working man's penalty.
Anyway still very much impressed with the boards performance although with the strong winds it was hard getting the 7'11" plastic beast down the face. Went over late on a couple on the backhands sideways to the face holding on to the outside rail and the board with its gull wing never slipped out once. I'd like to get some more size on a less windier day to test it somemore but needless to say these nuggets are definitely a find.

On a side note I also finally got to ride my 7'4" TerryChung bigboy mini-gun and was duely impressed. Went over with the lip on two bombs and was actually able to plant it and blast around the section in the clear. Believe me in that none of it was planned, but just nice to have a board that'll get you out of that kind of trouble.

Finally I ordered a Mandala quad fish for the upcoming southshore winter when we get those long chest high west wraps. I'll need to pair down my collection when it shows..

Hope your having just as much fun with your Nugget and fish.
Aloha

One,

Thanks for the update on the Nugget. Yes, I have been having some fun on mine since I got it, as well as on the quad fish.

Heading down to Baja tomorrow, for an over-night stay..... bringing the Nugget, the quad, and probably one other.

FUN FUN FUN !!!!

Aloha Pickles..
I think its the combination of the weird profile, bottom contour and fin.
All I know is that as either a Starfin or Gullwing single, you'll discover more about your surfing than any high performance thruster could ever do. But then again I'm already prejudiced since I own one of these.

solosurfer (www.solosurfer.com) says the polys ride even better than the plastics, so Tanner has got be enjoying his even more.

It's all personal preference.

I'm just duely impressed everytime I ride it, you'd never expect this kind of performance looking at it's outline.

I know I've converted a couple of guys here already, but I don't think the surftech thruster versions would work as well as this single..

Need to contact solo about more gulls to try on this thing..
