Only wear round toe. I have some internal split toe Billabongs from a million years ago but I can't for the life of me imagine why you'd want an external split toe to say nothing of an internal one unless you are looking for a great place to wedge your leash at the worst possible moment. Dexterity of your thumb toe is a pretty dubious argument.
I had those Oneil Ninja's someone posted above for a minute. Worst booties ever. They succeeded at being both uncomfortable and not at all warm. Leaked like a sieve between the toes. Better off with no booties.

I like the internal split toe.
Outside is like a roundtoe so the leash does not get caught......but the internal split toe helps prevent the dreaded bootie fold under your foot when getting to your feet. But it's gotta be paired with a good rubberized section above the toes and a more rigid material on top of your foot (not stretch neoprene like most of the stupid designs out there).
