I have to do a 7 day stint in Jakarta in a few weeks - few options - any input?

Option 1 - 4 * hotel small room 300 sq feet with a small balcony

Option 2 - 4.5 * hotel 645 sq ft - no opening windows or balcony +$200

Which would be better for my sanity? Anyone have any experience with a week or more quarantine?

Balcony, in a heart beat. Fresh air is crucial. Especially for beers and coffee. That's the main thing I look for when I shop for hotel rooms. In cooler climes it's nice to be able to open the slider to get some fresh air.

I would lose my marbles in some vacuum sealed room, even if it was twice the size.

The balcony sounds better for the sanity at a glance but a whole week of not leaving a room, I might leave it via the balcony.

I recommend you have some books or something to keep you occupied.

Good luck!

I'd like to see what the little room looks like.

I think fresh air is over rated.

Give me ice cold stale air any day.

I would do ice bath training in the tub for health and self regulation issues. I always do when I travel because there is an ice machine nearby in the hotel.

Super cold exposure totally relieves stress because you are relieved to be out of the fucking cold. Then you send up the massage girl.

I got a whole system, guys . . . :dancing:

I am concerned about this - and not sure if I can afford my daily beer allotment :foreheadslap: at room service price of $6 per can. However, some (Not naming spots) tubes over Xmas will be waiting on the other side. My kid is doing quarantine alone and she says no problem :socrazy:

Peeking into the outside world > 300 extra sq ft.

i did 7 days and it’s incredibly boring. got to the point I was sun tanning in the window for 30min when the sun would peek through at the same time every day.

good time to pick up a stimulating project and just run with it. even movies/tv/podcasts get boring around day 3.

I did a week in a negative pressure room followed by another week on a small boat. Balcony for sure, laptop and whatever else keeps you entertained.
