DeSantis sucks, but a single "one woman has been waiting five hours" anecdote doesn't count for sh!t.
We've had a small fragment of the population vaccinated to date, and apparently a serious problem with no shows. It's high demand right now, and Miami is the flake capital of the Universe. I read some of that twitter thread. There were a bunch of much faster turnarounds chiming in from NotFlorida, public and private, under an hour, no issues. The reporter said this site in Miami/Dade was run by State and Local, and FEMA was giving the shots. So the Feds are doing the grunt work, and the local imbeciles, of the State and City/County variety, are running it. No wonder it's a shitshow.
There was a Bloomberg tweet or ad or something about the "Wall Street Exodus" and it said "The issue with living in Florida is you have to live in Florida."
That means many things. Monster fkn cockroaches. Oppressive humidity. People who have never used a signal light and who only leave the passing lane to swerve into the turn lane/exit at the last possibly moment, with as much braking as possible done in the lane of thru-traffic travel.
Getting a Covid vaccine at a Miami x Florida collabo site when it's this high demand, and it being a recockulous shitshow with endless lines....how do you not see that coming? Where was the word "only" in that sentence? A sizeable chunk of people, their introduction to Florida is a series of two hour lines in Orlando after a traffic jam/near death on I-4. They might not pay out the ass for a picture of them on some roller coaster, but before they even left Orlando International, right about when they were confused and asking "What the fuck is a SunPass and I just flew in from Snowistan how the fuck do they expect me to have that?" they got a really expensive picture taken - on something they waited way too long for.
