I’m a boomer and there’s a lot of truth in that piece. Look no farther than the aging surf community and you will see that a lot of those poor fellas (and ladies) are on hard times. There’s a whole crew in California that lived with parents, that had it all planned out. Then burned through their inheritance to pay-expenses as their parents got old. Quite a lot of my current business dealings are with silent generation/boomers so if you guys want some insight just ask.
Nobody here cares about what a boomer thinks. Our thoughts, if they were ever relevant, are outdated. One of the many lessons I’ve learned here.

Even if ss is kept afloat, if you’re looking for more than a van down by the river ss better make up a maximum of 25% of your income when you retire.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being judgmental if you are a good judge.

In my job I have to judge people all the time.
I had a job like that for a few years, at least in having to judge and stack rank other humans
I Changed jobs
It’s not what I want to do

they vote for people who promote new programs that give them the money
But that is everyone.

The difference is the Right wingers complain about the lefties wanting free money but they are quite happy to show up for their free cheese.

What new programs are giving free money?

I'm a poor lefty faggot and I ain't getting no free money.

I'm paying like you gay lock down never forgetting always complaining right wingers.

My father-in-law complains about people freeloading off the tax payers yet takes every single government handout he can get his hands on.

My DT friend complains about people wanting free money but he took 240 grand in PPP money for his business.

I pointed this out one time and he got a blank look in his eye.

His wife is getting permanent state disability and he worth millions.

Take the money but don't complain about other people taking it.

The logic is that if other people are getting it , and it’s paid for by my taxes, then I’m getting it too

It’d be kinda crazy not to, no?

i'm paying in to it and feel that I have a less than 20% chance of collecting anything
Would prefer to cut my losses.

And there will be a tipping point where more voters (younger) come around to this realization
The "greatest generation" told the boomers they would never live long enough to collect SS. It would be insolvent before they ever made it to retirement age. Same sh!t, different decade.

Speaking of decades, how much in common does someone born in '45 have with someone born in '65? lol. Last I heard they had finally come to this realization and started splitting boomers into two groups.
