Do these still suck?

The claim is they’ve significantly improved over last year’s

But wetsuit makers always claim this

Is anyone using these in COLD conditions?

I’m thinking about a hooded winter suit for 35 degree water

Long sleeve spring suit is like July dawn patrol in my hood

I’ve heard Pat suits are heavy

Rip Curl 5.5 in your size done.
That’s what I usually use but I think RC is discontinuing the 5.5 mm ebomb. They now just have flashbomb

I also have a Pat gift card which is why I’m considering going that route

Yeah just noticed they changed it up. They brought back the 6/4 and now no 5.5 just 5/4. Both are listed a flash bomb. I've heard Patagonia suits are crap. Heavy, expensive, and stiff but they may have gotten better. I've heard the new O'Neil and Xcel winter suits have gotten better and are rivaling Rip Curl suits. I'll be getting that 6 mil rip curl.

I’ve heard the same thing on Pat

I will probably end up going 5/4 flashbomb

I really don’t want to go up to 6 mm

If air temp is below 20 i’ll just stay home

Ever try xcels, tried on the Patagucci and hated it, heavy and stiff. They will have to totally redesign with different materials to compete with the other brands.

Xcel dims aren’t right for me— seem aimed at stockier builds

Pat has similar dims to ripcurl (on paper at least)

I need tallish/lanky dims

The heavy/stiff rumors will probably make Pat a no go for me, especially given the cost

This all based on the old models, try to at least get a look at the redesign if interested.

Isurus suits were fucking awesome last year.

The 2019 suits are even better.

They are, without a doubt, the best suits that are not custom.

I felt up the new Patacult suits. They are “better” than they were.

They went from sh!t mixed with barf to just barf.

only rocking rip curls myself..Dont need nearly as much rubber as some of you folk. Ive never even owned a 4/3.. Standard 3/2 Ebomb with booties for our most "extreme" conditions.

This and half the cost. Very warm suit. I've got one full season and a couple of sessions the year before on mine. Great winter suit for here in NJ.
This is something we can agree on. Loved both of my 5.5 e-bomb suits.

If it’s true that rip curl is discontinuing, looks like back to o’neill I go...

Ripcurls fall apart quick. Been using for past three years and they fall apart in a year.

As much as I hated my old Patagonia it was built pretty solid. The design was just horrible.
