I know it can be pretty cold, sharksy, dangerous, lonely, etc. up here in Sonoma County, but it does self regulate the yahoos. We do get a few SUPers on the heavy days, but they tend to know what time it is.
Crowds? On Monday someone had the audacity to paddle out one peak down from me (we were the only two people surfing). Turned out I knew the guy and we ended up having a nice surf.
