‘‘Twas the Summer of Endless/Perfect Storms. Everyone came up the coast sparing the beachfront communities along the way and just sat in our window. And their was a wicked lot of them so I was ready when this day came.
Fueled by drugs and inspired by Curren’s recent performance on alt at the time boards/DH/Litmus, I paddled out after snapping some pics on a 5’10” Doc Lausch when it was mo betta and I think bigger as well. Got my share of waves and made them all including a left and back then no one went left.
Forget if it was the Malloys or Hobgoods that were there but so was Surfer Mag and it got a two page spread in an East Coast edition with the caption “Haleiwa Comes To New England”. Those were the days.
