just caught up on the condensed heats -- Yago was absolutely robbed. Fix is in for kelly.

Some really good surfing from the women.

Agreed on the Yago/Kelly heat. I guess we shouldn't be surprised but still.

It's a bummer to watch the finals in such mediocre conditions.

looked like kelly got a push
but if u compare kellys 8 to yagos 6.7, kellys tube is about a half second longer

Slater ftw. Pipe/t-poo wins and retire already. He could probably do well at the Pipe contest into his 60s as a wildcard.

Y'think?

With a few rare exceptions (CC and Vahine) I thought it was embarrassing.
I thought it was cool  bigger, more obvious skill discrepancies than among the men, which makes for entertaining viewing / it isn't just a wave-catching contest. A little bit of struggling makes it look more realistic and down to earth to imagine surfing there myself

ain't a sport braaaah :)

I guess I could have caught waves and been under the lip and kicked out during those heats of bad wind, but I couldn't have tucked into some of the barrels that some of the women managed
