CBS national news claims Northern California will get +40 feet waves along with the freezing weather coming their way from Alaska and points North.

and my Vans would have only been suitable for there and back

Talked to a guy at work today who drove back to Santa Cruz yesterday from Idaho. Said going over the Sierras last night on I80 was knarly. 60 mph winds, blizzard conditions. Chains mandatory. High temp in Santa Cruz today was 48 degrees.

At my parent's place in Pioneer right now. They got a solid foot of snow at 3300' and it still snowing on and off. Took about 6 runs from the street, down the side of the house, and down the hill behind the property. First turns of the season!
