New Boards small surf and alohas

Well, today surf not epic... lalalaalaaaa
Went out anyway. Woke up the nervous system.

Saw Stefans' Black Beauty (Al Merrick) and what a SWEET board it is! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> Beautiful, perfect in every way... a board that would be put in anyone's quiver with joy and satisfaction. Rounded pintail, 2 3/8" thick (?) 6'6" Uh how could I forget RED-X Fin Systems!!! Absolutely the shiznit. I told him it was mine, but he didn't believe me...

Now he soon to be in Hawaii... aloha and mahalo Stefan. Epic board.

Piercer got some bad news here at work...a girl that is under me is quitting...so it's going to be at least another month. from now. And I almost booked my ticket. Good thing I didn't book it...as it was on my frequent flyer miles!!!

So, I am looking now at mid April. As I am going to have to train another lemming... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

BUT thats okay. I'll do it...and be in Maui by mid April if that works for you?!

sndcrtr, were you north of the breakwater this morning? there was a girl leaving the beach when i got out that kinda looked like the picture you posted.

haven't surfed in like 2 weeks. got out this morning, and like you said, it wasn't epic, but the weather was awesome and the alohas were flowin. caught a few at elporto around 9am. nothing great, but it sure did feel good get back in the water. I must not let this happen again. but it was worth the wait. i spent some quality time with my wife and son. I missed them so much while they were gone, I sucked it up the last week or so. anyways, just wanted to drop a line on your post.

stefan, congrats on the new board, thanks for the flat spell, it enabled me to spend time with the family, without missin good surf. now go to hawaii and get some. I am so envious of you. I wish I could visit my old stompin grounds. I miss livin in hawaii. well at least i have california and not kansas or something horrible like that. have fun and be careful. takin the new board?

I'll answer for Stefan - Hey Surfdad, he does't post so often as he is busier than flies on you know what... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> But yes of course he is taking the Black Beauty with him.... I almost had a big "O" over that board last night...it was so beautiful...perfect double concave. Thick rails... nice rocker... really a perfect board... I guess that Tom Curren knows his boards eh??!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

And he said that he would post from Hawaii when he gets there this weekend...I am sure we will be hearing from him and his Aussie buddie as they surf perfect 78 degree barrels.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I too have a new board ready to be picked up tomorrow and now it's flat.

I may get in a trip down to STS old stomping grounds in Corpus Christi to pick up the new board and have a photo shoot at Bob Hall Pier Sunday.

New boards put a fire under your arse, I should get one more often, even if I don't need one!

I'm glad Stephan likes the new ride and the fins. He'll be amazed at what a diffence in ride he can get by shifting the fins. He'll also like the fact that they won't get loose on him over time. Once people try them their pretty sold. It's just over coming the reluctance to try something new.

As I believe he got the standard size. I was pretty impressed too... and my next new board will definitely have REDXFIN Systems on it...
