Modernize my punctuation?

I just found out, it is no longer correct to double-space after the period at the end of a sentence.

This will be a hard habit to break.
I apologise.

Does it help or annoy to add an extra line-break (a blank line) between paragraphs?

Getting old rarely bites us in the ass when it comes to grammar and punctuation, but there you have it.

Double space after a period will always be the most correct. It harkens back to an era when people still had standards and common sense, before gender pronouns and equality of outcome. Before the interwebs, legal weed, gay marriage, safe spaces and SJW to a time when a contract meant something. Yes, when your word meant something.
