I posted the "surf in Belize?" thread. Thus far no responses. Does anyone, I mean anyone out there have info on Belize as a potential destination for surfing? Is it even worth it to go out to it's coastline and try to surf? Can anyone help me out here? (If your used to specifics: locales, weather patterns, pointbreaks, reefbreaks, websites that tailor to describing the surf, communities of surfers in Belize, etc. (anything of a descriptive nature that could help me plan out my two weeks of free time surfing this country)--that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for if it does in fact have a place Belizian culture.) Thanks.

Belize doesn't get much swell except for wind swell during hurricane season. So from my experience the only swell you will get is during Aug. to October around a hurricane coming from the East to Southeast direction in the Caribbean Sea.

Good luck

the belize coast is bordered by a vast offshore barrier reef system, making it a world class diving destination, while making whatever surf there might be (pretty much none) accesible only by boat. Heard it's supposed to be beautiful though, and you're in central america so good surf is definitely in the neighborhood.
