My friends daughter just got a job with a county forensic department here in NY. She said that soon video will be inadmissible in court. The fake videos are getting so good - people are manufacturing fake alibi videos.

I would expect probably some exceptions to that like maybe casino cameras with supervision and chain of custody much like we do with software that records environmental conditions in drug factories for FDA required logs but I guess run of the mill corner store video will be inadmissible.

Yah it's getting crazy out there.

Chain of custody and information embedded into the video can be faked, unless it's on a blockchain. Would be interesting to see if anyone applies this concept to a new crypto project. Will be critical in the future to know whether or not videos have been edited.

seems like it would be a double edge sword. da and le no longer able to use camera evidence as well.
