If you think the media hasn't damaged this country you need your head examined.mundus said:One has the ability to do, actual damage to the country. Sorry I think having an unfit President is a bigger deal. How exactly is press at war with Trump, reporting on the stupid stuff he says and does?GDaddy said:The media is at war with Trump and he's at war with them. I don't feel sorry for either of them.
What specifically do you think I'm pretending not to get?GDaddy said:You don't get it (actually, I think you do but it serves your purpose to pretend you don't)
BTW - this is utter nonsenseGDaddy said:The degree of direct conflict between the two worldviews kinda does dispel the talking point that all cultures are interchangeable and equally compatible, doesn't it?
People are speculating about the possibility of a civil war if these trends continue. So it may be that not everyone sees it the way you do. Perhaps if you had more "empathy".......bird. said:BTW - this is utter nonsenseGDaddy said:The degree of direct conflict between the two worldviews kinda does dispel the talking point that all cultures are interchangeable and equally compatible, doesn't it?

In lieu of a civil war, how about we just let the red states secede without a shot fired?GDaddy said:People are speculating about the possibility of a civil war if these trends continue. Firstly and in acknowledgement of the obvious, I'm primarily being argumentative here. Not exactly trolling, but also not exactly sincere, either.bird. said:We are products of the same culture.GDaddy said:People are speculating about the possibility of a civil war if these trends continue. I'd have never guessed that you were being less than fully sincere. I mean, the na na na boo boo thing didn't suggest anything of the sort ;-)GDaddy said:Firstly and in acknowledgement of the obvious, I'm primarily being argumentative here. Secondly, we're seeing political violence in the streets and it is very commonly referred to as a culture war - so whether or not it's really a thing is arguably open to interpretation.
Thirdly, if/when you have a household member whose personal values conflict with the rest of the group that can and sometimes does lead to people being completely unable to live together in that house. The closer the relationship the more conformity is required.
Human nature is a thing. Sorry.
LMAO.GDaddy said:Outlaw culture, for example. Drug culture. Racist culture, SJW culture.
Yes, this is why if you don't get over your disdain for people who look, think, and act differently than you do you won't have a safe space in mainstream American culture much longer.GDaddy said:The closer the relationship the more conformity it takes to thrive. The higher achieving the group the more rigid it's expectations are.
Ain't none of this new in human history.
You know, one of us is a lot more upset about current trends and events than the other.bird. said:Yes, this is why if you don't get over your disdain for people who look, think, and act differently than you do you won't have a safe space in mainstream American culture much longer.GDaddy said:The closer the relationship the more conformity it takes to thrive. This right wing assumption that everyone else is equally obsessed with their own feelings as most right wingers are is really something special.GDaddy said:You know, one of us is a lot more upset about current trends and events than the other.bird. said:Yes, this is why if you don't get over your disdain for people who look, think, and act differently than you do you won't have a safe space in mainstream American culture much longer.GDaddy said:The closer the relationship the more conformity it takes to thrive.
