So my Dad went to Hawaii in 1969, not as a surfer but as a tourist and I grew up looking at a souvenir he got that was on our bookshelf for 40 years. Then I went to Hawaii with my wife in 2016 and we are walking around a a tourist shop on Oahu and I see his souvenir. almost identica so I bought it. Anyone know the significance of this particular item? I googled it but no results. The one on the left is his; bought 1969, the right bought 2016.

the one on the left is lono...god of the harvest peace tranquility water life....and all that....

on the right is usually ku...god of war

Super cool. I'd say the significance is lot's of wear on the mold, and different materials.
