Just read an article about Hawaii hitting its sustainable tourism limit.

10 million a year. More tourists than residents. Unsustainable. When does the line get drawn????

Why is that unsustainable?

Lots of places have more tourists than residents.

Hattaras in the summer comes to mind.

Maybe more people should move to Hawaii to balance it out.

Oahu - I don't know how the residents handle it.

When I was there I was pretty much afraid to leave the North Shore.

I don't know why anyone would go there if they didn't surf.

Paradise lost.

Hello Brazil.
Pick up the white courtesy phone.
Not going to happen

They have an airport tax or something that makes flights so damn expensive.

It has been this way for over a decade.

Add in the crime aspect and it's a travel boner killer for a lot of people.

It's one of few beautiful places relatively unspoiled by foreign tourists though.
