A man believed to be a former Russian agent convicted of spying for Britain is fighting for his life in a hospital in Salisbury, England, along with his daughter, after the two came into contact with an "unknown substance" on Sunday.

The incident made international headlines after the man was named by the BBC as Sergei Skripal, one of four Russian spies involved in a prisoner exchange with the U.S. in 2010.

Local police were alerted on Sunday afternoon after Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia Skripal, 33, were spotted unconscious on a park bench. Sergei Skripal was displaying what witnesses described as "strange hand movements."

I'm going to take a wild guess as to who's behind this.

"Four days after the Skripals were found, the police announced that the two had been poisoned by an unspecified nerve agent, a category of lethal chemical that includes sarin gas and VX."

Finally watched Icuras last night. If Putin will assasinate sports doctors at a drop of a hat, any Russian involved in email hacking or Facebook trolling during ‘16 must be shitting themselves

I'm sure that, when it's revealed that the Russians are behind this, Trump will issue a strong statement and even stronger sanctions against Russia.

It seems like it would have been so much simpler to manipulate a couple semi-retard hajis to conduct another truck-o-peace operation.

Ar maybe do it Malmo-style, with a grenade attack.

Sure. But the Ruskies are trying to send a message here: "We can flex whenever, wherever, and however we want, and nobody is going to do a f*cking thing about it."

Russian spy: What are Novichok agents and what do they do?

1) They were developed in the Soviet Union
The name Novichok means "newcomer" in Russian, and applies to a group of advanced nerve agents developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s.
They were known as fourth-generation chemical weapons and were developed under a Soviet programme codenamed "Foliant".
In 1999, defence officials from the US travelled to Uzbekistan to help dismantle and decontaminate one of the former Soviet Union's largest chemical weapons testing facilities.
According to a senior defector, the Soviets used the plant to produce and test small batches of Novichok. These nerve agents were designed to escape detection by international inspectors.
